The Project
The spacious living room is conceived as a volume of pure light, where the absolute void becomes the ideal stage to enhance the expressive power of carefully selected pieces. Zenithal light, emanating from a large, elevated opening, floods the environment, defining contours and inviting almost spiritual contemplation.
At the center of this immaculate canvas, sculptural seats with an ancestral allure dialogue with the essential linearity of a contemporary sofa and the organic form of a metallic coffee table, akin to a large pebble smoothed by time. At the periphery, elements evoking the natural world, such as sculptures resembling cacti or petrified wood, root the space in an atavistic dimension. Each object, isolated and powerful in its uniqueness, contributes to creating an atmosphere of rarefied harmony and profound stillness, where time seems suspended.
Further defining the identity of this space are furnishings and lighting fixtures of exceptional craftsmanship. Among these, the Spyder lamps and the Pneuma sofa by Henge instill a sculptural elegance; the Vara armchairs and the "Sculture domestiche" (Domestic Sculptures) installations, both creations by Imperfettolab, introduce a strong organic and ancestral resonance. The composition is enriched by the almost invisible transparency of the glass coffee tables and the raw glass pedestal, custom works by the Gordon Gu brand; their diaphanous presence offers a stark visual counterpoint to the material solidity of the darker, more imposing furnishings.
The dining area is configured as an almost ceremonial space, enveloped in a silence laden with solemnity and defined by deliberately low ceilings that accentuate its intimacy. The environment expands vertically only above the monumental central table, where a wide zenithal opening allows light to pour down, creating a luminous cone that becomes the true scenic backdrop. At the center of this illuminated stage, the table itself is a bold dialogue between opposing forces: a massive, almost telluric base, composed of blocks of raw, dark material, contrasts with the ethereal lightness of an expansive glass top. A slender insert of greenery, running along part of its length, introduces a breath of life, an accent of vibrant nature within the almost monastic rigor of the setting.
On either side, the seats rise like totemic figures, silent guardians of a convivial ritual that transcends the everyday.
The uniqueness of this composition is the result of a distinctive design: the monumental table is a custom piece entirely designed by Lorenzo Puglisi, its glass top, inspired by the material purity and transparency typical of Gordon Gu's works, enhances its almost immaterial essence. Completing the ensemble are the Matau chairs by Imperfettolab, true functional sculptures that bestow an ancestral and powerful aura upon the entire space.
The area dedicated to the kitchen and more informal conviviality unfolds as a landscape of material contrasts and sculptural forms, where functionality merges with an almost metaphysical vision. The heart of the kitchen zone is dominated by a monolithic island, an imposing block of natural stone that emerges from the floor with telluric force, flanked by the linear rigor of the kitchen system. Overlooking this area, a surprising and multifunctional element captures the gaze: a suspended structure, almost a spaceship or an alien entity, which conceals light and sound sources within, reinventing the concept of a hood.
Adjacent, the dinette area and bar counter offer a more intimate space. Here, a table with decisive forms and an essential counter define the zone. The dinette seating, with its organic and sculptural design, invites pause, while the bar stools, ethereal and transparent as ice crystals, introduce an element of lightness and wonder, playing in deliberate contrast to the solidity of the other furnishings.
This scenario is shaped by design interventions and unique pieces: the functional kitchen system is the Oneon model by Henge. The dinette table, the bar counter, and the striking spaceship-hood area, integrated into the kitchen cabinetry, are custom designs by Lorenzo Puglisi. The crystalline stools are creations by Gordon Gu, while the Midi chairs for the dinette bear the distinctive signature of Imperfettolab.
The master bedroom is conceived as a sanctuary of quietude and introspection, where light itself becomes architecture and narrative. The focal element is a grand backlit wall that serves as the bed's headboard: a continuous surface of onyx, whose innovative finish allows for a warm and enveloping diffusion of light, transforming the wall into a vibrant work of art and the main source of ambient light. This ethereal light defines an intimate and protected space.
In this scenario of serene luminosity, details of refined design and sculptural presences of strong impact emerge powerfully. Organic and primordial forms, almost fragments of an ancestral nature or mysterious guardian figures, contrast with the geometric linearity of the luminous boiserie and the austere simplicity of the other furnishings. The effect is a constant dialogue between raw material and immaterial light, between archetype and innovation, inviting rest and profound contemplation.
Defining this unique atmosphere are distinctive elements: the headboard-wall is the iconic Checkmate boiserie by Henge, presented here for the first time in its new backlit onyx finish. The various custom-designed furnishing details, which punctuate the space with their materiality, are creations by Lorenzo Puglisi. The intense organic sculptures, which infuse the environment with a primeval energy, are the work of artist Daniele Giannetti.
